Hysterics: Fertiliser burns grass

Dec05 011We used the agrifab spreader/aerator for the first time in the summer paddock. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the flow rate fight and dumped a whole lot in a couple of stripes round the paddock. Today, a hot 30 degree day, the retic stopped working and I could see the grass turning black almost before my eyes. The inlet pipe had burst again. I found the very blunt hacksaw to cut the hole out, but it was about as useful as a butter knife. I finally cut it through, but realised that I wouldn’t be able to fix the retic as I couldn’t cut out the connector. I was hot, bothered, and worried that the grass was all going to die after a year of nurturing and got a bit weepy, well hysterical would be a better description as I knew it was going to be a hot day the day after. After feeding all the animals, I drank half a bottle of whisky and fell asleep on the couch with a shopping list in hand to get the pieces and new hacksaw blade the next day.
