Lame Chicken

070When I let the girls out this morning, I noticed that Goldie was limping quite badly.  I picked her up to see if there was anything sticking into her foot, but couldn’t see anything obvious.  Being the first time I had felt a chicken’s foot, I wasn’t sure what I was looking for and what things should feel like.  She looked less sore on the soft sand at lunch time, so I will just monitor her over the next couple of days.  Not sure what the options are, I don’t think it is broken, but if she is still lame in a few days, I might try a splint and bandage.
