Rock Picking 2013

coffee rockThe landscape rake pulled up a few rocks and sticks, but nothing like the harrows, so we only filled one tractor bucket before seeding.

I ran the harrows round after seeding which brought a lot more up to the surface so we filled another 2 buckets.  We have been picking up rocks every year for the last 4 years and have quite a few stockpiles round the property.  The coffee rock is pretty sharp and hard on your hands, so I have learned to wear gloves.  We are going to build 3 gabion basket walls near the house and will separate the rocks by colour.
