The Country Diary of a GenX Woman

Rogues Gallery

Now that Ginger has been to the Dag Day Spa, she has a bottom worth photographing again.  I love the chicken’s fluffy bottoms and they are all different.  Ginger is an Isa Brown, a cross between a Rhode Island Red and Rhode Island White, known for its daily egg production.  She has barely missed a day in the 18 months she has been here after we took her home from the Margaret River free range egg farm (they sell their birds at around 18 months).  She hasn’t even had a moult even though she would be close to 4 years old now.  Mama, Rumples and Chicken are bantams crossed with something and have beautiful barred feathers and little rosettes on their bottoms.
