A number of trees came down on the west boundary of the property, both on the road and inside the property, so my birthday present got its first outing. Brad has a Stihl Farm Boss chainsaw with an aggressive full chisel chain and a 20″ bar which weighs about 7kg. I did a 2 day course last year on operating and maintaining chainsaws and knew I wanted a smaller one with tool-less tensioning and a semi-chisel chain. I tested both Stihl and Husqvarna and chose the Husqvarna 440e with a 16″ bar which only weighs 4.5kg. Of course, I also got the helmet with visor and safety chaps, so I looked the part when I cut my first tree up on the property.
