Drying Off

20131103 003The past week of record temperatures has dried off most of the property except for two patches of green kikuyu, one invasive weed outbreak down near the creek line and the other, planned and planted in the irrigated paddock. I love the range of native grasses we have, particularly these fluffy ones and next year am going to investigate re-seeding the big paddock with native grasses for the horses. With the plantation trees on the south boundary over 5m tall now, even in the height of summer it doesn’t feel too hot or arid as you are surrounded by green in all directions.
