Wingless Grasshopper

20131209 065The Wingless Grasshopper is our main pest insect and the reason for our Guinea Fowl.  They are now entering their 5th adult stage and will soon be laying eggs.  The chickens are joining in the battle and catching them in the summer paddock/arena.  They will mate about 2 weeks after reaching their adult stage and lay their eggs a week after that.
