Reticulating the Vege Beds

20131223 008For the last 2+years, we have been watering the vege beds with the summer paddock sprinklers, but the plan was always to put some drip irrigation in as it is more efficient delivering water to the root zone and reducing evaporation.    Brad dug a central line between the 3 pairs of beds and teed the connections into the 6 beds.  I laid the dripper pipe in an “e” in each bed.  To keep power usage down, I didn’t want to run the dam pump for the length of the watering phase, so we put a 200 litre barrel in as a header tank.  Brad also ran a separate line to the 4 citrus trees, I can alternate between the sections with the flick of a tap.
