Guinea Nest

20131225 002 (2)I have now collected 9 eggs from the Guinea nest in front of the house.  I don’t want to leave them there as something is obviously raiding the nest as 3 decoy eggs have disappeared.  Like chickens the guineas will lay a clutch of 10-20 eggs over a couple of weeks before sitting down to incubate them.  In general, guineas aren’t the best mothers and they are very vulnerable to fox attack when they are on the ground, so I collect the egg every afternoon and will try and hatch them when I get to 10-12.
