They Flew the Coop
I thought this image was a good illustration for today as the young guineas decided that they didn’t want to go back into their cage overnight, leaving us with an empty nest. I had been letting them out at 6.30am for the last few days rather than leaving them in until 10am and I think they had more time bonding with the older birds. They showed no interest in going back in, so I locked the door and left them to their own devices. I crossed my fingers that they would fly up to roost in the trees rather than hiding under branches on the ground. A few of them are inclined to do that when feeling threatened, especially the one with 2 lost toes.
