The Longest Day
I wasn’t up in time to see the sunrise just after 5am, but luckily the moon hung around so there was something to commemorate our longest day. It seems strange to think of the nights “drawing in” as we head towards autumn when we haven’t even had the hottest part of summer yet. Although it is the longest day, it really signifies the start of summer, just as the shortest day in the Northern Hemisphere is the start of winter rather than the start of spring.
