The burl wood is highly sought after by woodworkers because of the <a href=\"http:\/\/australianburls.com\/AustralianBurls\/Jarrah%20Burl\/Jarrah_Burl_Current_Inventory.htm\">grain patterns (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dougmcculloch.com\/html\/chatoyance_.html\">figuring<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woodweb.com\/knowledge_base\/Chatoyance.html\">chatoyance<\/a>) and colouring<\/a>. It can look a bit like tiger&#8217;s eye gemstones or birds eye maple.  We wouldn&#8217;t think about cutting the tree down, but if it falls over in our life time, it will put a little money into the retirement fund. The &#8220;ballpark&#8221; figure is $5 per kilo and this would weigh well over a tonne.
