First Pomegranates

Jan13 010Our first ever pomegranates have appeared. There were a lot of beautiful coral coloured flowers earlier in the year and I am happy that we have at least 4 fruits. So far we have planted lemon, lime, mandarin, fejoa, strawberries and passionfruit that are thriving, the blueberry and sylvan berries failed – though the sylvan are hanging in sending up suckers through the rest of the vege bed. The Guinea Fowl come and rest under the pomegranate in the heat of the day, I think because the leaves are close to the ground.
