Baby Blue Eyes under siege

Jan_11 053Something had been trying to dig into the Guinea Fowl cage over night.  The predator had focused its efforts digging near the door either recognising it as a weak spot or scenting my comings and goings.    There was a fair amount of digging, but the cage is impenetrable for anything bigger than 2″ as the whole floor is meshed too.

I hadn’t noticed that young Guinea fowl have blue grey eyes. The mature birds eyes look much darker in the photos, but I can’t get close enough to see them in real life.
