The Country Diary of a GenX Woman

My Favourite Grass

13_01_27 070We have a number of different reeds, sedges and grasses around the property, but this is my favourite.  I don’t know what it i,s and we only have one beside the dam. It is a beautiful rich copper colour with a lovely metallic sheen.  I dug out a small section and planted it by the house to see if it will take.   It was surprisingly heavy to carry, and I hope it survives.  I am surprised that it has not seeded and reproduced by the dam, but maybe it is a male and needs a female or vice-versa.  To me, it truly represents the colours on the property.
