Another Hot Day, Another Fire
Just two weeks ago, I was feeling relieved that the hot days had passed and with them the risk of a bushfire, but, today was another unusually hot day, getting to 34 degrees – 9 degrees over the April average. We noticed smoke billowing to the east at around 4pm. A number of farmers in the district have been burning their paddocks ready for the rains and new growth, but the speed at which this flared and the height of the smoke column made it look more like some bush going up. Brad didn’t get called out to the local bush fire brigade, so it must have been controlled fairly quickly
