Slashing

DSC02012I enjoy slashing, which is just as well as there are many more hours ahead on the tractor.  What’s not to love, you are out in the sunshine, (or at least in the dry)  travelling at about 5kmh between rows of 6m tall trees, leaving lovely neat stripes behind behind you so you can see what you have done.  The only downside is the diesel fumes from the exhaust which twirl and swirl the leaves on the trees as you pass.  I just think of them being able to grow more with the extra carbon dioxide.  I do a single pass down the centre of the all the rows to get most of the bulk which takes about three hours then will come back with the slasher offset slightly and go up/down each row twice to cover the whole width which will be another six.DSC02010
