The Country Diary of a GenX Woman

Almost Full

rain filling damWith another 10mm of rain to 9am yesterday we have already had over 180mm this month, and with more forecast over the weekend, we should pretty much double the long term average of 103mm.    The dam is almost full – 6 weeks earlier than the in the last couple of years when it hasn’t filled until July.  The Bureau of Meteorology has just issued their rain forecast for June to August with the chances of a drier or wetter winter  in the Southwest being roughly equal, but I am going to stick with my January statement that the late flowering Marri herald a wet winter.
