The Country Diary of a GenX Woman

Sunrise 07.27

20130716 010The sun rose through a mist of early morning rain, providing a filter to enhance some great images.  I turned away from the sun when it got too bright and caught myself silhouetted against the shed.  I have learned that if you have a shadow, it is too bright to shoot the sun.  A rainbow was just emerging over the water tank and when I had finished picking up the manure, I caught my own little pot of gold “Flash” at the end of the rainbow.  The gentle rain was the calm before the storm, we had a squally day with strong winds, hail and rain.  The gauge said we only had 15mm, but they came down with a vengeance.  I am sure the horses were glad to have their rugs on all day, and a clean dry one when they went in for tea.
