The Country Diary of a GenX Woman

Spring Springing

20130816 018Everywhere you look on the property, buds are bursting into flower providing some wonderful splashes of colour.  Most of the flowers appearing since May have been green orchids and they are quite hard to find. You can’t say the same for theses beautiful vibrant Kennedia one of the many legume or pea species (Fabacea) in the forest.  We have huge patches of this plant forming a dense groundcover through much of the forest area that we burnt in 2010.   It will look brilliant in September when more buds open.
