Forecasting the Weather

20130529_172411I like to think the horses are in awe of my ability to forecast the weather, getting them in to their stables just before the rain starts or putting their rugs on before a cold night.  Last night, the rain started just as I got back to the house after the evening feeding rounds, and the horses were all rugged up and eating.  I will keep the wonderful BoM Interactive Weather rainfall map to myself.  It is even more useful than the rain radar for planning the farm activities as it looks at up to 7 days ahead.  The chart shows the prediction for 5pm and the photo shows the front rolling over the property at 5.24pm.  We ended up with 24mm in the gauge.
