Sheep Fence Finished

20140527_170617Only six days after the star pickets were rammed in, we finished the shelter and the fence.  Brad attached the gutter to the shelter while I walked the length of the fence looping  a strainer wire through the top of the ringlock mesh in the middle of each bay.  We tensioned this and the top wire with our favourite ratchet strainers.  Brad had modified the ringlock bar strainer and it worked much better than when we did the goat fence.   It is nice and taught and looked quite professional after we attached the mesh to the posts with the dropper clips.  We finished  after dark again – the poor chickens had taken themselves to bed without their sweetcorn and the guinea fowl went to roost without their wheat.
